June 2nd - 25th

Graphic Studio Dublin at The Lavit Gallery

Opening on Thursday June 2nd at 8.00p.m is an exhibition titled Graphic Studio Dublin @ The Lavit Gallery.

The works in this exhibition are a selection of fine art prints from Graphic Studio Dublin's Visiting Artists Programme. Since 1980, artists have been involved with this programme, which has seen International and Irish artists being invited to the studio to work with master printmakers developing a body of prints that expands the boundaries of their usual practices to include fine art prints. This creative collaboration manifests itself in special and often unexpected ways.

This exhibition includes a selection of some of Ireland's most established painters, who have through this programme worked with the medium of printmaking. Work by Elizabeth Blackadder, Diana Copperwhite,  William Crozier, Michael Cullen, Felim Egan, Martin Gale, Tim Goulding, Mary Lohan, Hughie O' Donoghue, Gwen O' Dowd, Jane O' Malley, Tony O' Malley, Geraldine O' Neill, Barbara Rae and  Donald Teskey will all be on display. The different printing techniques such as etching, lithography, screenprint and carborundum chosen by the artists to employ instead of painting often draws something new and surprising from them.

We are delighted to also announce that - Robert Russell - artist and studio director, will give a free print demonstration at the Lavit Gallery on Saturday June 11th at 12.00 a.m. All are welcome but prior booking with the Lavit is advised, as places are limited.

The exhibition will be officially opened by Dr. Sabine Kriebel, lecturer in History of Art at UCC on Thursday June 2nd at 8.00p.m.
